Automated Backup with Bareos

Challenge

The existing backup setup relied on removable media and manual handling. The client required a fully automated solution where data remained physically under their control while reducing ransomware recovery risk.

Approach

I designed and implemented a geographically redundant Bareos setup across primary and secondary locations. A tailored backup strategy combined incremental and differential backups with long retention windows and efficient storage usage.
