Matthias Petermann

Matthias Petermann holds a degree in computer science (Dipl.-Inform. (FH)) and has worked in IT for more than 25 years. His first vocational training was as an electrician. Today, that background comes full circle in embedded systems, local automation, and smart home projects.

His technical curiosity began in the early 1990s with a Commodore 64 and his first self-built PCs. After studying computer science at the HTW Dresden, he gained experience in IT infrastructure, application and system management, semiconductor manufacturing, CAD/CAM, pharma, and financial services, as well as in open source projects.

Since 2012, Matthias has provided independent IT consulting, at times full-time. Alongside his current employment, he continues to support selected projects. His focus is on IT architecture, messaging, automation, and embedded systems. He values systems that remain understandable, work in day-to-day operations, and can be operated well over the long term.
